Positive Thinking

The more positive stuff I think about and actually say with conviction, the more good things happen to me. So I must agree that positive thinking and due diligence pays off with huge rewards. Keep at it and make sure you love what you do.

Be Happy in NYC

So over the weekend, I made an Apple Cobbler with a Cake Batter Crust. Just experimenting really. It went extremely well. Almost too well. Now, I have to make it for the family all the time. It's perplexing but extremely enjoyable to have people around you that not only love you but love your work. I think they love my work too much. But its fun. I'll do the BBQ all spring long so lets see how they enjoy that. And Picnics in the park. Fun times are here...

Enjoy yourself everyone, and enjoy the people around you.

Growing as an Entreprenuer

2014 has been a banner year for Noel's Kitchen so far. It has shown that no matter the pitfalls or hurdles you go thru, we must continue to plant the seeds of success everywhere we visit, in everyone we meet, every job you do. Finally for me, these seeds are starting to mature. We can never put a time table on these things so don't. Instead, continue to push forward. Build yourself and your brand up. The mistakes we make along the way only make us better people, better Entrepreneurs, and well for me, a better CHEF.

Barriers Creating your own Business

As a fairly young Entrepreneur, the most pitfalls I have had to date is building revenue and securing funds. Sometimes when I'm not selling or making sales, I have to do other things to help grow the business including taking on other jobs to continue growing my business. It's hard though. It's extremely hard to gain support. Being an African-American Male with a Felony Conviction o his record doesn't help at all. So, its hard getting funds at times. It's hard getting people to even believe in you. I keep pushing eliminating those around me who say they support but continue  to be that habitual barrier crosser. Nothing great comes easy. Rough start to 2014. It only gets better.

Stability

Lately i have been thinking a lot about stability. When i first opened Noel's Kitchen back in the winter of 2011, things were very unstable. The business was shaky, i didn't have a stable client base, things were unstable with my family, and being part of the dating scene was almost a nightmare. Over time, things gradually have turned around. It wasn't until earlier this year, 2013, that Noel's kitchen became a more stable business. I was able to develop a more stable client base, my number of returning customers increased, i did well enough to donate my time and food to a local women and children's shelter in the Bronx.

A Day in the Life

As a Chef and Entrepreneur, I wear many hats. I had the most enlightening conversation today. And I learned a lot. I realized that the feelings I have been feeling of late is pretty much the norm. Being overwhelmed, a little afraid of failure, paranoia, moody. Its a constant work in progress with new companies. My day is, "Ok, I finished this order, now I gotta do the social media thing, Then I gotta do my paperwork. Take pictures. Check Email. Do Correspondence. Answer Phones. Send out marketing stuff. Get testimonials from clients. This is an everyday thing. Not to mention paperwork, finances, and monthly expenses. Sometimes this goes on for weeks at a time, but every now and then I get a break. And I smile. I look at where I was to what I have become now. I can only smile and say Thank You. To God. To family and friends. To everyone who did and did not believe in me. Myself and my peers continue to Pay it Forward. We continue to Defy the odds.

Thank you all for your continued support

Just wanted to say thank you all. I truly feel blessed by your continued support. It has and will continue to make a difference. Take care and enjoy the weekend..
